How easy is it to consume REST api’s from CICS? During this session a battle hardend CICS engineer and a bewildered Linux engineer lost in a z/OS environment will show the ease of writing and deploying web applications with a CICS backend enabled by Y-Innovate LWW. The session will showcase many modernized technologies including an AI assisted coding live demo to go from prompt engineering to source code and from source code to a full containerized deployment on an Kubernetes platform.

Chris is a Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) who bridges the gap between two seemingly opposite worlds: the fast paced agility of modern Linux and the ultra-resilient, rock-solid architecture of the mainframe. By deploying Enterprise Linux and OpenShift on the mainframe, it allows to show a hybrid mindset—showing organizations how to inherit the legendary, always-on resilience of IBM Z while running modern, cloud-native application development at scale.
I'm a mainframe programmer in the broadest sense. Meaning I'll code just about anything I can get my hands on and probably enjoy it too.
