Standing up a new Spring Boot microservice in CICS Liberty used to take around 35 days of manual setup, configuration, testing, and coordination. IBM and NatWest jointly developed CF4J to automate that end to end, compressing it into under 30 minutes. This session walks through the automated Java development, testing, and deployment pipeline for Spring Boot microservices in CICS Liberty: what was manual, what CF4J now generates, tests, and provisions automatically, and how the two teams collaborated to deliver it. We'll cover the developer experience, the automated test generation and execution built into the flow, the automation under the hood, and the productivity and consistency gains this unlocks for Java on z/OS.
