Who doesn't know this, JCL offers a variety of possibilities and before you know it, a few bugs have crept in. With Smart JCL, JCL can be easily and effectively checked, modified, or even IZWS variables can be resolved for test purposes. Depending on your preferences, this can be done in ISPF, in batch or now also via VSC plugin. In this session you will learn some few Smart JCL basics and you will see a live demo.
There is currently no attachment for JCL check easy: submit JCL check in Visual Studio Code, in batch or in ISPF.
Jens Bühring is an internationally recognized Consulting IT Specialist at Beta Systems / HORIZONT for different product areas running on the mainframe. During his career he has developed expertise that spans application development on the z/OS platform, IWS z/OS administration, workload optimization and a variety of product and software trainings. Besides acting as solution architect Jens is focused in lifecycle management systems for mainframe workload objects like JCL, IWSz AD etc.. He is involved in many projects to help customers in Europe, to improve their business by taking advantage of the latest HORIZONT technologies. He is a frequent speaker on these topics.
