Finding and developing specialized talent has always been a challenge. In this session, we'll share the journey of our NextGen Academy program, which began as a highly focused initiative to identify and train the next generation of mainframe and assembler developers supporting critical business systems. We'll explore how candidates are selected, how the academy is structured, and the lessons learned from building a sustainable pipeline of technical talent. Most importantly, we'll discuss how the program is evolving into an AI-infused NextGen Academy, where future engineers develop practical AI skills and learn how to apply them across product development, engineering workflows, and innovation initiatives. Attendees will gain insights into creating talent programs that not only address today's skills gaps but also prepare organizations for the AI-driven future
