Presentation

People have been talking about Git on the mainframe for years. But what does that actually mean for your day-to-day work? You've spent decades developing on the platform using the tools and processes you know. Now you're being asked to learn a new technology, a new system, and a new way of working. Where do you even start? How do you learn Git? And how does it fit into a platform that, until recently, wasn't designed around Git-native development? Whether you're just getting started or looking to sharpen your skills, you'll learn: • How Git really works under the hood • What Git-native development means for mainframe teams • How to structure and configure your code for success • The essentials of repositories, clones, commits, pulls, pushes, branches, and workflows • Real-world lessons and examples from organizations successfully using Git on the mainframe today Leave with a clear understanding of Git, the confidence to apply it in your daily work, and practical techniques you can use immediately.
