IBM Redirected Recovery is a utility that many DB2 professionals have heard of, but very few actually use. It has several practical use cases, and in our organization we use it to recover lost LOB documents that were either lost during processing or removed from DB2 tables by mistake. Once recovered, the documents can be returned to the business for reprocessing. In this session, I’ll walk through how Redirected Recovery works, the key steps involved, and share our real-world experience using it in production. My goal is to show why this underrated utility deserves more attention and how it can help solve recovery scenarios that are often considered difficult.
