The word operates on three levels simultaneously.
As a place where skilled people gather around a specific,
essential craft, bringing real problems and leaving real solutions.
The act of forging, shaping raw material under
heat and pressure into something structurally stronger
than what you started with. And forging ahead, moving
forward decisively through difficulty
Every year, speakers and delegates at the GS conference donate to the charities we support. This year, GS | Forge26 is supporting two children’s hospital charities.
Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity
Sheffield Children’s is one of the UK’s few dedicated children’s hospital trusts. It provides acute, specialist, community and mental health care for children and young people across several sites, including Sheffield Children’s Hospital, the Becton Centre, Centenary House and the Ryegate Children’s Centre. It is also home to The Spark, a purpose-built facility developing new technology for children’s healthcare. More than 3,000 staff put families at the centre of everything they do.
Alder Hey Children’s Charity
Based in Liverpool, Alder Hey is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals, caring for more than 450,000 children and young people every year, from common illnesses to highly complex conditions. It is home to the Alder Centre, the UK’s only dedicated bereavement centre for child loss, and the Institute in the Park, where clinicians, researchers and technology companies work together on new treatments. More than 4,000 staff care for children and their families.
You’ll find the charity stall in the reception area throughout the event. Please drop by and donate if you can. Thank you.
